Sorta hated that we gave up the last TD the Panthers scored. Not great defense on that drive (though had a lot of subs in). Otherwise felt like we had a pretty good game tonite.
We held O.D. to 13 yards rushing (on 27 attempts for a half yard per carry average). OD had 210 yards passing (18 of 27 - no int's).
Total offense for the Panthers was 223 yards.
VSU had 260 yards rushing and 327 passing for a total of 587. Rogan was 15-22 with no int's for 220 yards for a 68.5%completion percentage (he was at 88% last week). That's 587 yards of offense for the Blazers tonight. Not bad.
We need to be a little more disciplined as far as penalties. Also, Goff's mindset is a bit different than K Bell's. If Kerwin could score he would, regardless of how far up he was. I felt like we weren't as aggressive late with a big lead as Bell would have been (both personnel and play calling late). I think running it out at the end was pretty classy on Goff's part.
Whopper of a game coming up next week. Need to enjoy this one tonite and get to work tomorrow to get ready for West Alabama.Last edited by Fan_the_Flame; 09-15-2019, 04:27 AM.

Initial thoughts.
It was good to get the win and set the new record for winning consecutive home games. In some sense it was also a good "national" win.
Offense had some good drives down the field, and eating up the clock. Running and passing, players were hustling! That is always a good thing!
Defense played pretty good against a strong team-- just let that QB get free too many times
Glad to see our kick off player doing so well. He had a good night with many out-of the end zone kicks.
But...penalties. We can't afford those next week.
You know everybody is going to bring their A game against us. Tigers are looking good. We better prep, prep, prep!!!Last edited by BlazerLady; 09-15-2019, 04:34 AM.

Offensively we had 11 possessions.
Two ended because of the half/game ending. One ended with a punt. One ended because of a fumble.
Seven ended with touchdowns.
I thought that was a pretty good night of offense.
