  • Canadarican Week 8 Regional Rankings

Sorry I don't have graphics like last week or more details. But between our 4 years old, a busy week getting ready for Homecoming here at Carson-Newman, and my pregnant wife, it has been a long week for sure.

    Super Region 1
    1. Slippery Rock (7-0)
    2. Notre Dame (7-0)
    3. Kutztown (7-0)
    4. IUP (6-1)
    5. West Chester (6-1)
    6. Tiffin (6-1)
    7. Frostburg State (6-1)
    ------------------------------
    8. Assumption (5-2)
    9. Cal U. (5-2)
    10. Shepherd (5-2)

Notes- SR1 had more changes than all the other SR's combined. Out goes East Stroudsburg, Ohio Dominican and Findlay. In comes Frostburg, Assumption and Shepherd.

    Super Region 2
    1. Valdosta State (7-0)
    2. Lenoir-Rhyne (7-0)
    3. Wingate (7-0)
    4. West Florida (5-1)
    5. Bowie State (7-0)
    6. Virginia Union (6-1)
    7. Fayetteville State (6-1)
    ------------------------------
    8. Miles (6-1)
    9. Carson-Newman (4-2)
    10. Albany State (5-2)

Notes- Virginia State and West Alabama fall out of this weeks rankings, and are replaced by 6-1 Miles and 6-1 Fayetteville State. Both of those teams benefited tremendously in my rankings by receiving votes in the AFCA coaches poll.

Side story: Despite being 3-3 (3-2 vs DII), the #11 team in SR2 in my rankings? Mississippi College. Something I never thought I would write. Go Choctaws.

    Super Region 3
    1. Ferris State (7-0)
    2. Ouachita Baptist (7-0)
    3. Indianapolis (6-0)
    4. Central Missouri (7-0)
    5. Northwest Missouri (6-1)
    6. Harding (6-1)
    7. Grand Valley (6-1)
    ------------------------------
    8. Henderson State (6-1)
    9. Fort Hays (5-2)
    10. Missouri Western (5-2)

Notes- Some shakeups after Northwest's stunning loss to Kearney. The Bearcats falls from #2 to #5. Pittsburg State falls out of the top 10 and is replaced by Fort Hays.

    Super Region 4
    1. Tarleton State (7-0)
    2. Minnesota State (7-0)
    3. Colorado Mines (7-0)
    4. Colorado St.-Pueblo (6-1)
    5. Angelo State (6-1)
    6. Texas A&M-Commerce (4-2)
    7. Dixie State (6-1)
    ------------------------------
    8. Sioux Falls (5-2)
    9. Eastern New Mexico (5-2)
    10. Minnesota Duluth (5-2)

Notes: Top 4 remain the same this week. Angelo leaps Commerce for the 5 seed. Duluth's blowout loss to Sioux Falls drops them from 6 to 10. Sioux Falls makes the Top 10 this week.

Why include Frostburg in SR1 when they're not even eligible for the playoffs?

To be honest I forgot about that. But I still think it's fun to see where they would be if they were eligible.
