And four years later, the Queens Royals are ASUN champs in men’s basketball and headed to March Madness. They were the 3 seed in the conference tournament and beat top-seeded UCA today after beating 2nd seed Austin Peay yesterday. They benefited by the shortened transition from 4 years to 3 years. Otherwise, they would have been ineligible this season. Congrats to them!

That game was awesome. One of the best Ive watched during championshipweek thus far. Ashby was so clutch, but I figured Hunter from Central Arkansas was going to single handedly get it done.
Has anybody heard anymore about the merger with Elon? I know they wanted to keep separate athletic departments in the move but last I knew were waiting for approval from NCAA.

I haven't heard anything but I doubt separate athletic departments will last long. I hope it works out but my gut tells me it won't.Originally posted by canadarican View PostThat game was awesome. Keeping both and in two different conferences would certainly give them a unique opportunity as one school. But, if they drop one it would be funny (and smart) if they kept the Queens programs. Elon definitely struggles in men’s basketball which is the biggest revenue potential for the merged school (much more than FCS football). The Royals making March Madness is the best athletic success either school has ever had. Queens swim/dive team is also top notch after being a D2 dynasty for so many years prior to reclassifying.Last edited by UNALions; 03-11-2026, 01:33 AM.Go GSC and Roar LIONS!!
