  • 2022 Carson-Newman Football Schedule

Eagles released their football schedule this week officially. Great job by Adam Cavalier and Co. with this fantastic way of doing a schedule reveal, using kids of Carson-Newman employees!

So, sadly Carson Newman has removed the strong Wingate team (8-3 last season) from this years schedule, and has replaced that traditional SAC matchup with a game against Franklin Pierce (which has never won against a division 2 opponent).

Carson Newman starts the season with a game that more than likely couldn't be ducked because of obligations to play due to a home / away scheduling agreement against West Georgia (which CN lost to 45 - 7 last season). This may be the last time UWG plays the Eagles for a long long time.

The Eagles also have transitioning Emory & Henry on the schedule which was winless against it's only division 2 opponent last season.

To me, it appears as though the Eagles will be playing a watered down schedule this year, something Coach Sparks would have never done, no matter how bad his record was.

Who C-N is playing on the SAC schedule is determined by the SAC. With the move to divisions, every school isn't playing each other this year.

He also tends to forget Sparks played Plenty of cupcakes in non conference. Like when the played Bentley and an Alabama NAIA...or concord....or Campbellsville....

Amazing what kind of information you can find out by doing a quick 3 minute search on the leagues website...or at least having the understanding that no team in any division of college football "makes" their conference schedule lol.

So based on your vast expertise, what's your football prediction for the Eagles this coming season? Any better, or a continual slide towards being a predictable bottom feeder in the SAC, and D2 football in general?

Any insight on who CN's quarterback is going to be for this fall?

I have heard that LR transfer Tre Luttrell is odds on favorite to be the QB at Carson-Newman. Even though he was not a QB at LR.

I would not say odds on favorite.

Well Canadarican you seem to be more in the know on the QB situation at CN. I was just going by what I had heard.

CN has become unpredictable, the Eagles may line up the Center at QB, and it might not even matter. Not impressed with what's going on these days.
