Unfortunately, I think Newberry will struggle again this year. Though I think they will be pretty good on both sides of the ball, the SAC Conference is getting stronger and Newberry is also opening up with Valdosta. I think we will be doing good to win 5, maybe 6 this year.

I'm predicting that UVA-Wise goes 3-8, with victories over Concord, Anderson, and one mid-to-lower tier SAC team.

Genuinely curious for your thoughts as a Wise fan…

Given Wise’s overall lack of success in the SAC, do you think they would be better served to align with the MEC or even Conference Carolinas (with Ferrum)? It just seems the Cavaliers (with the exception of an occasional upset) have difficulty competing with any consistency in the SAC.

I realize that maybe such a question shouldn’t be asked, but oh well, there it went.

At this point they couldn't compete with the better (or average) MEC or Conference Carolinas teams either. Just like the SAC, those conferences have 2 or 3 teams that they could probably pick up wins from, but they would most likely get absolutely crushed by the top level programs these days

Emory & Henry should be one to watch this year in the Mountain. Allot of Talent with some key transfers on both sides of the ball.

Would have agreed with this statement a few weeks back. How are the Wasps looking with all that coaching turmoil?

We knew the coach change was coming. The new head coach was brought in by Coach Newsome, whom I think had this planned just not this soon. Coach Newsome has cancer, thus why he had to step down. I think the kids are rallying around that and the good news that they kept it in house for now.

Maybe. I feel like location is one of Wise's downsides in terms of recruiting. Also, even going back to the NAIA days, outside of a few good seasons, they've never really had a great football team with a deep playoff run. You can check out their season history here.
