Is anyone aware of many challenges so far in SAC games? Coach Cotchery challenged a pass by Anderson Saturday that was ruled complete on the field. It was upheld by replay. It took a few minutes though.

LRs coach challenged a play against Tiffin, it was a pass on the sideline that was ruled a catch. It took about 7-10 minutes to review and the call stood. Also a thought I heard there was a challenge in the LR Mars Hill game this past Saturday but do not know the specifics of that one

IMO the replays are entirely useless. Very few, if any, SAC teams have the camera quality or number of cameras necessary to definitively overturn a call. The two instances that cameras were used in LR games were not overturned and took nearly 10 minutes to make the decision.
Next time I see a replay, I know it’s time for me to get up, go to the bathroom, buy a hotdog, buy a beer, sit back down, and not miss a minute of game action.

It's funny you said that because that is exactly what I did at the Tiffin game, I went and used the bathroom and was back before the announcement was made. I agree it would be very rare that a call is overturned just because of the equipment used. I would think it would have to be a very obvious missed called to challenge a play.

Coach Cotchery is now eed 0-2 on challenges. He challenged another play that was ruled a catch. I also made a bathroom run & made it back to hear the announcement that the call on the field stood. I agree with 87Bear. I wouldn't challenge anything that wasn't obvious. I will say that our LB got flagged for targeting and it was an automatic review initiated by the officials and they did overturn that call so they picked up the flag & our LB was able to stay in the game.

To that point the two cameras for replay do not have the scope to capture all plays from all angles, and it'll be very hard to overturn a call. Also the two cameras cause the reviews to take longer since they don't have other angles to quickly switch to. It's a step in the right direction though, as I firmly believe it's better to get the call right, but two cameras isn't nearly enough to get a proper review for covering the whole field, and you're going to get a lot of "play stands".
That being said, it was refreshing to see Coach Ingram win TWO challenges against Catawba. He was right on top of the plays and had the better angle than the officials. It happens, their views are blocked from time to time, and that's where the benefit of replay review comes in. Fortunate that the limited cameras had the angles for them to overturn.
I am glad they have it to review targeting. In fact it allows the officials more freedom in there use of calling Targeting, then just going to confirm, as opposed to not throwing the flag on it they weren't sure (and there actually was). I've had conversations with SAC officials and prior to replay they were told do NOT throw the flag for targeting unless they were 100% sure. Don't throw it if you THINK there is targeting, throw it if you KNOW there is. But, with the benefit of replay review, they can toss the flag when they think there is targeting, and can confirm.

The main thing the replay system does is helps with Targeting. In the past if a player got a targeting, he had to wait till half time or end of game to get it reviewed and or overturned. Now that problem is solved. Lets say your best DB gets a targeting call on the second play of the game. In the past he was out till halftime. Now they can review and make the decision in real time. So it is a good thing.
