  • Transfer Portal Updates

    Wingate's QB Elijah Holmes has entered the transfer portal.

    So far, Lenoir Rhyne has 11 players that had entered into the transfer portal.

    Wingate seems to have a mass exodus on their hands. Their QB, top WR, 3 of 4 top tacklers, and the SAC defensive player of the year have all entered the portal.

    I hate the transfer portal.

      Yep, the Bulldogs have 9 players that have entered the transfer portal.

      Here's the numbers for SAC transfers in NC so far.

      Lenoir Rhyne = 11
      Wingate = 9
      Mars Hill = 6
      Catawba = 1

      From what I understand, Carson Newman has 2.

        RB Xavier Pugh did as well at one point.

        I hate it for several reasons, #1 being getting to know "kids" and then they leave for supposed greener pastures, but the truth of the matter remains that nearly 90% of kids at the D2 level who transfer never play/find a new home. Thats data straight from the ncaa.

              I am so glad to see these young men from Tusculum leaving. They deserve so much better than what these coaches at Tusculum are giving them. I hope the administration has realized what they got with these coaches and make a change if not then I believe Tusculum gets what they deserve. I hate it for my school but truth is in the pudding what they (coaches) put on the field the last two years. Good luck you young men that are transferring I hope you the best.

                Amazing how Eagle doesn’t see any CN players in portal. LR had two players that would play next year from the 11 in portal.

                  AU has nine in the portal. Three Defensive starters and two offensive starters. The rest of the guys were great kids but didnt play much. Trojans graduated two starters on defense as well and one on offense. So we should still have 14 starters back and a bunch of other contributors. I'm not at all worried about our defense. We got a little banged up at the end of the year, but we are already solid to my naked eye on that side of the ball. We have to get a QB in here I believe. Tyler Wesley graduated and his backup played admirably against Newberry at the end of the season but I'm not sure if he will be the guy moving forward. The offense has just been so inconsistent. We rushed for 300 yards against LR and then didnt go over 100 in any game after that. Wasnt much cleaner in the passing game either.

                  A lot to look forward to. Coach Lamb and his staff have laid a great foundation for both the immediate and long-term future I believe. Hopefully we get our first winning season in 2026!

                    The SAC Defensive player of the year is Ean Rhea from Emory and Henry, and he was first team All American, hoping he stays with us. Fingers Crossed.

                        If you had taken time to check my post, you would have seen that the source only covered D2 schools in North Carolina, and the last time I checked, CN is still in Tennessee.

                        By the way, are you a Nostradumbaz in knowing exactly who and who wouldn't be playing next year?

                          Let’s see if we can find in your original post about just NC portal players. For some reason it is not showing up. Maybe you meant a later version where you for some reason only posted about NC teams in the SAC which is really kinda weird except it was from you. The majority or nine of the 11 from LR were not projected to start next season.

                            Keep looking for the post with some of the the NC school's transfers listed.

                            https://ncfootballnews.com/north-car...tal-2025-2026/

                            By the way, since you seem to know, please list the players that Lenoir Rhyne will (and will not) be playing next season.
