Quick thoughts on each team...
Truman- Most complete team and most consistent performances so far this year. Comeback victory today was impressive and showed grit and mental toughness.
UIndy- A fumble at the 1 yard line denied the game winning score today. 2-2 looks so different than 3-1 No offense to ODU, but a team ranked 15th in preseason shouldn't have let it get that far. UIndy should be fine, but will run into issues with teams that manage to slow down Clinton. They miss their receiving corpse from 2019 and this past spring.
Lindenwood- opposite results from UIndy with 2 losses followed by 2 wins. Hardest schedule of the year in the conference. Good news for Lions is that they seem to be improving on things each week, and have sustained that improvement.
MOS&T- I wish I could've seen today's game, but there were issues with the feed. Seems Hillsdale was able to control the ball well, limiting the Miners potent offense. They held S&T to 0/8 on 3rd down. Considering they still managed to scored 31 points is amazing. S&T will be dangerous no matter who they face. Their skill position talent is enough to win games no doubt.
QU- Mixed bag so far, but not great results when facing tougher competition. I still believe the hawks have some talent and look forward to seeing how they match up in conference.
SBU- Bearcats have had a really tough OOC schedule, so the 1-3 record might be a bit misleading. Callis is an early favorite for OPOY. He has a dynamic receiving corpse and has been fun to watch. They'll have to improve defensively to be competitive consistently
Mckendree- Mckendree seems to be leaning more in a run heavy approach which might be a wise approach. They need to find a way to limit mistakes. They could possibly be 3-1 right now if they played clean ball.
Jewell- Cards have a long way to go. There are signs of improvement here and there. If they could get a consistent running game, it would go a long way in covering up some defensive flaws.
