Obviously I don’t know much about those kids but it is clear to me that they have a recruiting plan and stick to a certain region for recruiting. Coach Shea used to do this too and it helped fill stands for sure

Listened to the recaps yesterday and focus was around O an D line and it showed in who they brought in. Some big boys which is good to see and a lot of all staters. With Darrel graduating they also brought in some QBs and always looking for DBs. Noticeably they didn't sign any LBs and small number of RBs, but both those rooms are solid. Very happy with this class!

I was actually referring to the UIndy class. But the UIU class on paper looks really good. I was happy to see some of the big boys up front they signed. The UMass qb we signed is also intriguing based on how they used him as a qb, running back and wide receiver.

It's easy to see we've moved our regional focus around some the last few years. Used to be mainly Chicagoland and Ohio second to the Indiana kids. Central Indiana kids are still the main target and we overwhelmingly beat out NAIA Marian, Tiffin and Findlay for the quality recruits. We battle Grand Valley, Indiana State and the weaker Illinois D1s for a few each year. Few years back we added the St Louis area as the conference shifted west but that's a trend that has ended for us. Picked up a few coaches that were able to recruit regions south of us, and the contacts there remain, even after those coaches have moved up to D1 programs. Still mainly go after prep kids hoping that they'll stick around, and a recent year that we checked and counted, we had significantly less transfers than every other of the current Top Ten ranked teams. Getting our developing prep kids to stick around is going to be the challenge going forward. Even a lot of the better character kids "dream" of playing D1 no matter how weak a D1 program it is??
