Northwest Missouri @ Fort Hays State--Since the Tigers have proven they are incapable of winning a PO game at home or abroad, all tru MIAA fans should be rooting for the Bearcats to add that third loss to Ft. Flop's record today and thereby dash any hope they might have had for an encore loss at the Big Dance. Unfortunately, the Tigers have proven that they can easily win in the MIAA, and they shall again today....Alas! Fort Flop 33, Barely Bearcats 26.


Pittsburg State @ Washburn--In a league bursting with bad coaches, Moore Bowl will wtness two of the worst going head-to-head today. The fact that either of these men are still on the sideline after years of incompetence and failure is a direct and damning indictment on the athletic department and president's office at each institution. In turn, each team is a reflection of its coach. Expect today not so much a football game as a very loosely organized brawl and/or mob riot. The zebras will earn their paychecks as the yellow will fly early and often. Flea-Eaters 28, Ex-Cons 27.


Questions:

1) Would Mel consider coming out of retirement to coach again? If not at NW, then at Pitt or Washburn? If he would do this, and turn bad times into good times for a second time in his life, he would pass from football Sainthood to football Godhood. It is a killer knowing this man has all that ability, experience and leadership and is not using it now when so many need him.

2) Concerning the watering down of the MIAA, can anyone please explain what possible advantage accrued to the league by adding Newman or Rogers State? Comish Racey is clearly an idiot but I suppose, in his defence, he is simply continuing the Reign of Idiocy launched by Johnson the Mumbler.

3) As MIAA football continues its swift slide to mediocrity, one thing we can be sure of is that we will always be #1 at something, viz., having absolutely the two worst teams annually in all D-2. Seach every conference and I challenge anyone to find two worse teams than Abe and Talaquaw. For this, if I remember correctly, we can thank Mumblin' Jim and the clueless conference presidents who rubber-stamped this brainless disaster.
