GNAC Pick'em: Week 2

Okay, the form thing worked for the most part, so I'll keep doing it. Two GNAC games this week. Central Washington heads down to Western Oregon. And the freshly victorious Simon Fraser takes the long trip down to Azusa Pacific.

For the bonus games this week we have Pitt State going to Emporia State, Sioux Falls against Winona State, Colorado Mesa State University of Colorado again Eastern New Mexico, and West Florida against the Midwestern State guys that were very mean to HSU.

WOU 27, CWU 24 -- It's against my religion to pick against my alma mater two weeks in a row. Besides, The Annual Beatdown officially resides only in Ellensburg, not Monmouth.

APU 55, SFU 14 -- Azusa Pacific is the real deal; props to SFU for snapping their long losing streak, but APU is a much different ball club than D3 bottom-feeder Willamette. I expect Highway Grill to light me up on this pick.

Pittsburgh State 41, Emporia 21 -- Going with traditional power (and ranked) Pitt State, home of one of the best mascots, excellent school colors, and great game-day experience, though yeah, this is at Emporia.

Winona State 27, Sioux Falls 21 -- Going with the home team here in what should be a barn-burner with No. 14 vs. No. 16.

CU-Mesa 45, ENM 17 -- Don't know much about either club other than Mesa is 1-0, ENMU is 0-1, and Mesa has been a pretty strong program over the years.

West Florida 37, Midwestern State 33 -- Game of the week for D2, two highly-ranked teams slugging it out. I'll pick the visitors on this one, even with the very long road trip.

I will say one thing, this week can be a separator with that non-conference slate as well as conference matchups with some powerful teams in past years as well as last year. I see no surefire pick in all but perhaps the Pitt State/Emporia State game.

Not quite the right score Tim: #17 Pittsburg State 34, Emporia State 13. You did though get the point spread to within 1!
