New President, Dr. Tom Jackson from Black Hill State University, starts at Humboldt Friday, June 28th. He lists college Athletics as one of his passions....I like his first move:

I went and read his bio. He sounds like a good one! Maybe he can find a way to reinstate football. It can be done. WT dropped football for a year 30 years ago because of stupid, non-visionary, boneheaded management. Would it be possible at Humboldt?

            Re: Humboldt Happenings

Let's hope he looks into bringing back football. Reaching out to those who pledged money to try to keep football would be a great start I think to see if the interest still there. That they had 62 million surplus though, that is very disappointing for sure when they said that well less than that needed to be raised to keep the program going. Then again, they didn't count all funds given to keep the program truthfully either.

Much better chance at HSU than with that bunch of hippies.

I'm afraid that the Viking burial ship has sailed and burned.

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sisters and my brothers
Lo, there do I see the line of my people
                          Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them
                          In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever.
                          Seems appropriate for those Vikings.

Still in limbo......HSU hired a similar Consulting firm in 2016 that strongly recommended to keep football and build Athletics.....
