Nuevo Leon = "Autenticos Tigres" ... the "Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon" could probably be most analogous to UT-Austin in that it's the flagship public research institution for the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

Im not sure why we took that game, as I dont believe it has any bearing on rankings. I talked to Bailiff a few weeks ago and he said they had tried to schedule any DII or FCS team that would play us and "got 147 nopes." Hopefully this scheduling crap is fixed for next season.

I doubt they got 147 nopes as most of those 147 likely already had games scheduled for that date. :wink:

I doubt it's a home/home. Much like the TAMUK- Monterrey Tech game was a one shot deal at Jerryworld. The downside was it was declared an exhibition game by the NCAA, so it would have had negative impact on our playoff chances that season as if we really had any in the first place. That was the same season Tarleton dumped 80 on us and we fired the coach the following Monday.

UANL is located in Monterrey and really it's a great city to visit IF you fly there. The road from Nuevo Laredo and from Reynosa to Monterrey has been known to have cartel turf battles.

You sir should spend 7 days and 6 nights at Hotel Chula Vista in Ciudad Juarez. Make sure you drive your late model car or truck over into Mexico. While you are there make sure you wear plenty of bling to impress the locals. Finally, ask around and find out where the Zetas party because you can totally hang with them.

I'm always amazed and uncomforted, when we go to our ago Cabo resort, Cabo Azul, to see the need for an machine-gun armed Policia/Guardia posted outside the entrance. I haven't seen that (yet) at an American hotel. Get the Socialist Party (Dem) thugs in solid control here and I'm afraid it won't be long till we do.
