The Running of the Buffalo

One of the great traditions in college sports is the Buffalo leading the team onto the field before the game.
In an article in the AGN on Sunday Wt announced that they will no longer allow the "Running of the Buffalo."
The reason given was "safety concerns." Another proud tradition bites the dust. I have been attending football
games for over 45 years at Wt. I do not recall any injuries to the Herdsmen, fans, or players.

It's a sad day in Buffalo land.

Safety concerns sounds like a generic way to say they were pressured out of using a live animal.
