A bunch of new names on the Javelina roster on both lines, skilled players, etc. It appears there are fewer than 20 guys that have previous experience with our program. Hopefully they work out all the "gelling" during two a days.

With the roster limits in D1, there are lots of new faces on many D2 squads. If you are a D2 coach and you took the spring off and didn't bring in your share of D1s, you're pretty well screwed this year. You will be out-athleted. -

The roster limits thing was a one-time bubble. But with less roster spots available on D1 teams in the future, the level of athlete on D2 teams is going up big time. A lot of athletes that could formerly play D2 ball aren't going to be playing in college anymore unless they play D3 or without a scholarship. And the talent disparity between FCS and D2 is going to be much tighter, although FCS schools will still have more scholarships.Originally posted by cwfenn View PostComment

I dont follow the rules changes so the roster limits is new to me. That makes sense why there seems to be more D1 transfers on our roster. I'm a bit of an old school guy and still prefer the home grown talent. I was really happy about this year's recruiting class and hope we develop those players into starters in a couple of years.Comment
