I just called the compliance officer at Augustana, she was not available. She promised to call me back and I'll ask questions.

"An athlete other than a true freshman who enters a regular season contest (at the varsity or JV level) during the season in their Fall sport, even if only for one or two minutes or for one or two plays, will be using one of their four seasons of competitive eligibility.
Freshman athletes at a D2 university may compete in up to 30 percent of the games or dates of competition in their sport without being charged with a season of competition."
The two pieces above, were copied from that article. Not relevant to our NSIC/D2 squads...I saw that in D3, the only way to Red Shirt is to remove yourself from the team, no practices or anything. I found that to be interesting as well

You are correct, All sports 30% of teams scheduled regular leagues games. Pre-season, post season count against the 30%Originally posted by CollegeFBGuy View Post"An athlete other than a true freshman who enters a regular season contest (at the varsity or JV level) during the season in their Fall sport, even if only for one or two minutes or for one or two plays, will be using one of their four seasons of competitive eligibility.

So 30% of 11 is 3.3, which is likely 3 games without losing the "shirt" or not? It's so interesting how the rules change as you go from D1 to D2 with these different rulesOriginally posted by vikingfaithful View Post
