Chadron looks like they'll hold on to beat Highlands 43-38. Chadron has to be one of the most up and down teams in the conference.
Chadron is like many other RMAC teams. Good offense, bad defense. It seems as if Highlands, SD Mines, Adams, Chadron are very similar teams in this regard.

Only seen them play once, but seemed as if they had a decent defense and bad offense. Surprised at the points they've been giving up.

Against Pueblo? Yeah, it is surprising how the defense and offense has turned since the Pueblo game. The defense kept Chadron in that game for several possession while the offense did absolutely nothing. But, in all of Chadron's other games, the offense has been quite good, with a balanced attack of running, passing, and sometimes passing the ball downfield. They showed none of that against Pueblo. Meanwhile, the defense has really been bad. Of course, the Adams game. But, even against Dixie, Chadron was massively outgained that game, but the defense did keep Dixie out of the endzone in key situations to allow Chadron to hang on. Today, against NM Highlands, the defense gave up many big passing and running plays, but made some key stops late in the game to help Chadron win.
Next week against SD Mines, Chadron might give up 60 while scoring 70. Then it's Colorado Mines in the final game. Probably another 60 point give-up.

Yeah, against Pueblo. I understand that Pueblo can make teams look bad on offense, and Chadron always shows up for that one. So maybe I got my hope up that Chadron had taken some steps forward. Hopefully they can continue improving, the new facilities should help with recruiting that's for sure.
