Holy crap. What a shocker in St George. Chadron with a playoff chance coming into Golden next week. What a crazy ending to a season.

Well, we know Pueblo can't host Mines first round. But they do likely host if they win next week.

                  Re: Week 10 Game Thread

What a wild and weird game in Rapid City for Chadron SD Mines game. Allow me to summarize.

Going in, I expected a very high scoring game for both teams, as I know that both teams have good offenses and both teams have bad, or struggling defenses. The weather was windy and cold, but dry. Temperatures in mid-high 30's consistent winds of 25 with gusts to 40.

1st quarter- Chadron started on defense, but got a quick interception from Jake Sullivan and Chadron got a quick touchdown and 2 point conversion. Chadron got ball back and scored another quick touchdown, and they were up 15-0 about 5 minutes into the game. Mines got a touchdown but botched extra point 15-6. Chadron gets two more quick touchdowns and Chadron is winning 29-13. Chadron ended up being stuck on 29 for probably the next 25-30 minutes of game time, until the 4th quarter.

Chadron had ball with about 50 seconds left in 1st half, with the wind in their faces. Mines has 1 timeout left. Considering the wind, Chadron could have run out clock, (or very close to) and instead, they go out of bounds on 2 running plays in a row and Mines doesn't even need to use a timeout. Mines blocks Chadron punt and returns for touchdown with 40 seconds left. Unbelievable. Mines botches another extra point and trails 29-19 at halftime. Mines and Chadron both left points on the board as both teams squandered some scoring opportunities in the 2nd quarter. Sullivan was scrambling for a sure touchdown midway in 2nd quarter, but fumbles from the 1 and the ball goes into the endzone recovered by Chadron for touchback.

3rd quarter. Chadron offense stymied several possession in a row without ever getting even a 1st down. Mines offenses gets going, and they score 24 straight points to go put Chadron behind 43-29 going into 4th quarter. Mines kicked a 37 yard fg, but a holding call backed up 10 yards and Mines kicked a 47 yard fg. Even with wind at the back, I didn't expect that to go in.

4th quarter- This is when the craziness happens! Chadron changes offense and goes to power running game and get 5-15 yard chunks down the field, and do this 2 times in a row to tie the game 43-43.

Mines drives downfield but Chadron forces a 4th down, and Mines kicks a 34 yard FG into the wind, and ball clears crossbar with about 5 yards to spare, and Mines winning 46-43 with about 5 minutes left. Chadron responds with more of their power running game and gets a quick touchdown with 2 minutes left.

Mines turn. Chadron defense starts to stiffen, forcing a 4th and 15 with about 40 seconds left from about midfield. Sullivan, rolling to his right completes a pass on Mines sideline about 15 yards dowfield and no one knows if its a 1st down. Finally, they brings the chains out and 1st down by half a football. 20 seconds left, Mines with 1 timeout, and ball on Chadron 35 and Sullivan scrambles to his left, and slips a little, and looked like his knee was down after gaining about 5 yards, but... the play continues... Sullvan running down field to about the Chadron 22 with what looks like a first down. But the clock keeps ticking and the ball is suddenly spotted where it looked like Sullivan's knee was down upfield (I honestly though it might have been down, but it was verrrrrry close). There was NO whistle to rule him down. The refs did put a few seconds back on the clock and allowed Mines to use their last timeout to prevent any more seconds from going off the clock.

So, anyway, last play.... Ball around Chadron 25 with about 10 seconds left, Mines 0 timeouts, Sullivan hits receiver down the middle of the field to about the Chadron 4, receiver is wrapped up but receiver is trying to break free from a couple of Chadron defenders as he is stretching the ball to the goal line, it comes out!!!! Fumble and Chadron recovers it, with 3 seconds left. Chadron runs one last play from inside the 1, and avoids safety or a turnover, and game ends. Chadron 50 SD Mines 46.

                  Whew!!!!!

This has to be one of the most lopsided games as far as stats go that I remember lately.
When Jackets Fan said they fired the OC I didn't realize they were just not going to play offense period! Looks like the waterboy offense to me!

Pueblo's defense did this last year too, the last few games (including at Mankato) they just dominated games. Pretty terrible time to fire your OC though, not sure why they decided to put the players in that position. Unfortunate.

If you look at the box scores of any RMAC game from the RMAC website....

                        https://rmacsports.org/calendar.aspx...ll&season=2018

You see typical things listed for Weather (listed near the top just under the score by quarters) for all the other games, but you check the SD Mines-Chadron State boxscore and read what it says for weather.... LOL

Coaching, or significant lack thereof. Plain and simple. They may be inexperienced at some spots, but there are severe deficiencies in effort and fundamentals. That's coaching.

                                Didn't expect this at all.

50-40 Adams up now, 12 minutes to play. It seems they are using their 2nd and 3rd QBs, Rooney hurt?
