Kearney is a tough place to win from an MIAA perspective. He made a lateral move from ENMU, his alma mater where he won the LSC, for a bigger paycheck. Makes sense to me if he's interested in competing for conference titles and CMU is willing to open up the checkbook.

My point is that the MIAA is a comparable conference - good schools and quality competition. I'm the type who believes a coach stays the course. I think Kearney's a neat town...for Nebraska, that is. ;-)

Editing: three seasons, not two, but still... if he could somehow bring that freshman quarterback they have over there back to Colorado with him, they'd be right back in the hunt for the RMAC.

He's making 111k currently at UNK, for reference. It would take a big pile.

They should throw a bunch of money at Josh Lynn, current head coach at Kearney. He's won more games there in two seasons than they did in the previous five combined. He can recruit like hell, and his offense would work immediately with the athletes they have. It would be about as big of a splash as you could get in D2, outside of landing Stitt or poaching a DC from Mines or Pueblo.
