The new DC, amongst a lot of people in the coaching field has been labeled one of the top recruiting talents. He has strong ties and support from too many Texas high school coaches. They say he’s no bs and evaluates talent quite well. Pueblo got themselves a monster and it’s already beginning to show. Those recruiting classes were tops in FCS and I’d bet Faske had a huge play in all of them. Hopefully they can hold on to him a few years.

The new coaching staff at CSUP has ties to schools in Texas and has used those connections to recruit players to Pueblo. CSUP has several commitments from Colorado and elsewhere but I’m tracking those from Texas because of the coaching staff’s links to the Lone Star State.

Here’s another commitment, Shallum Peter, 6-2 220 LB, from Dallas, Lake Highland HS. He runs a 4.51 in the 40 and in 10 games his senior year recorded 60 Solo Tackles, 17 Assisted Tackles, 5 Sacks, 8 Tackles for Loss, 1 Interception, and 1 fumble recovery. He’s a two-sport athlete -- he also plays futbol. Peter used his soccer skills to kick field goals and kick-offs and won the 7-6A Special Teams Player of the Year award. He’s relatively new to football kind of like CJ Roberts of the 2014 natty team who arrived at CSUP with a lot of physical ability but limited football experience.

CSUP got commitments from two more Lone Star recruits: Dareriel Higgins Jr., 6-4 250 DE, from Denton, TX, and Gary Seidenberger, 6-0 220 LB from Fredericksburg, TX. Higgins passed up offers from two LSC schools to join the Pack. Seidenberger got a bunch of offers from both in and out of State and was selected to play in the HEB San Antonio Sports All-Star Game held at the Alamo Dome the 7th of this month. He set a school record last year in the hang-clean at 315lbs.

Should CSUP go to a four-down lineman defense, it can use a player like Jusiah Sampleton, 6-0 295, from Giddings, Texas, just outside Austin, to muck things up in the middle. Sampleton committed to CSUP earlier today. He resembles Tony Campton of the 2014 natty team. Not tall, but quick, relentless and seemingly strong like Tony. Before the season he squatted 750, benched 510 and deadlifted 580. He's a beast in the weight room (twitter link to weight lifting video included -- copy and paste in your browser).

CSUP got a commitment from AJ Jordan, 6-5 220 pound, DL, from Vista Ridge HS. Jordan resembles Morgan Fox who played HS at Fountain-Fort Carson and has been in the NFL several years, currently with the Chargers. Nice work by the new coaching staff …

I think you're referring to Ryne Berger, 6-4 240, DE / OLB, from Klein Oak HS in Houston metro area.. CSUP is recruiting him. I didn't know he had committed.

    Recruiting

CSUP's new coach said he and his staff were going to recruit players capable of playing at the national level, that is, capable of winning in the post season. CSUP has offered a number of HS prospects in Texas, Arizona and California, and even Florida. Wyoming and New Mexico. Vigil said he was also going to go to the transfer portal to recruit. Yesterday he got a commitment from QB Chance Fuller, from Fort Hays, out of the transfer portal who he prolly got to know when he was an assistant at Fort Hays..
