Whoever wins will definitely be top 25 heading into week 2. Both teams were solid last year with UTPB getting to the playoffs as the 3 seed and Pueblo rattling off 7 straight wins at the end of the year. This will be a huge game for playoff implications. UTPB likely made it last year because of their OOC schedule (SBU and Texas College) and CSUP missed after starting 1-3 against 3 of the top 8 seeds in last year's playoffs. CSUP should be returning a lot from last year's teams including the conference offensive (OL) and defensive (LB) freshman of the year and 8 all-conference selections each at different positions (S, PR, KR, RB, WR, OL, CB, DT). UTPB should be the favorite after making the playoffs as the 3 seed last year, but the Thunderwolves should be trending in the correct direction if they can get decent QB play.
