    Couple of Observations:

    1) Colorado Mesa has two problems. That SD Mines loss and the head to head loss against Central Washington.
    2) Angelo State is in with a loss due to earned access if Central Washington loses. Need to root more for a Western Oregon win.
Earned access is moot with Angelo State since CWU and Angelo are both in the LSC...

Had they both lost it could have come into play.

I know these are not the criteria the NCAA uses and know this makes sense so it will not happen. Pretty sure USF will be sitting home next weekend, if so I would like to hear the NCAA’s justification. For that matter, the justification for whomever gets left home.

Honestly whoever is left out really doesn't have a gripe since the bottom tier has at least 1 bad loss to a 4+ loss team.

Now that I re-read the original explanation which I responded to, you're correct. This is what happens when you're exhausted after working field security for a FBS Power Conference client...

SOS is a tough statistic to really quantify since schedules are determined by the conference and teams might get to choose a game. With the NSIC in flux cuz of a couple of teams dropping out, the schedules have been wacky for a couple of years. That said.........

OOC USF choose D1 St. Thomas and won and Kato chose D2 NWMSU and won so that is a wash.

USF and Kato each played 5 teams with winning records and each finished 4-1 against those teams. That is a wash.

USF has a worse loss (Minot) that Kato. Advantage Kato

USF head to head over Kato. Big advantage USF.

Last six games of the season USF 5-1 Kato 3-3. Advantage USF I know the committee won't look at it, but how you play at the end of the season matters.

Going by those criteria (which the committee probably doesn't) USF should be in over Kato..........I could be wrong but would love to hear the argument for Kato over USF.

If a 10-1 Western team whose only loss was to the #6 team in the country and #1 in the region isn't #2 it will be a travesty.

D1 games don't count so that's not a wash. Every year there's people that ignore the publicly available criteria and instead make up their own criteria for... I'm not sure what reason. USF didn't do what they needed to do to secure a playoff spot. Simple as that.

Agreed, their SOS is a bit lower but they're #2 by nearly every other criteria. Do I think they're the 2nd best team in the region? No. Numbers wise though they've earned it.
