I don't see Alex doing anything financially for the athletic program. Obviously, he's got the jack to give them whatever they needed to vault to anything short of P4, but I get the impression he's not that interested. Now, IF he's really on board with the new president, and IF the president has some sort of big vision for athletics, then I could see Alex jump on board. But those are three very big "ifs."

Everyone associated with WT seems to be quite content with a very limited, "regional" focus. You aren't going to grow with that mindset, but that's the box that WT seems to be in, and has always been in. If I was king for a day, I would rally the troops, including donors, to find a way to the Southland at least (or whatever conference ACU is in). Most of these LSC schools are not peers to WT. Angelo State and Midwestern perhaps.
