Congrats West Georgia. I must admit that I and my merry band of Blazer loyalist are green with envy. Go forth and do great things in D1. We can only hope to be joining you all sooner rather than later. I If memory serves me correctly, we’ve played for 6 National Championships in football and won four of them. IMO we’ve done about all we can do at this level and it’s time to move up.

We have the enrollment, and like you all can meet the number of required different types of sports offerings. My question is does the institution have to own its own football arena? Is this a D1 requirement? As everyone knows, VSU does not own stadium. We have had an interest in purchasing the current venue from Valdosta High for years; however thus far been unable to do so, as Valdosta has been unwilling to sell. This we continue to share the venue.

Thanks, I figure VSU will follow soon. Was a shock as I usually have an idea before these things happen. As a former alumni and booster president. They kept this quiet for sure.
