Thoughts on each LSC team halfway through the season:Angelo State v. ENMU
Final Score: ENMU 29 Angelo State 28
The Rams raced out to a 28 to 0 lead in the first half of the ball game with the Hounds scoring finally getting on the board late in the 2nd quarter. The Rams opened up the 3rd quarter with a 3 TD lead over the Grey Hounds. The Hounds opened up the 2nd half with the ball and drove down and scored to put the difference to a 2 TD lead. The Rams struggled the entire 2nd half to drive the ball and could not put points on the board. From the start of the 2nd, it was all ENMU. Both teams struggled with holding on to the ball. They each lost 4 fumbles and several of the turnovers were converted into points. ASU and ENMU both scored on fumble recoveries for touchdowns. ENMU took a one-point lead and blocked a 30-yard field goal attempt by ASU in the final 1:25 and held on to win the game.
Takeaways: The Rams rushed the ball very well but were plagued by 3 turnovers and a 2ndndTexas A&M Commerce v. Texas A&M Kingsville
Final Score: Texas A&M Commerce 41 Texas A&M Kingsville 28
The Lions took a 200 yard passing game, an interception return for a TD, a blocked punt returned for a TD and cashed in a win over the still struggling Javelinas. The Lions jumped out to 13 to 0 lead and cruised to a 27 to 7 lead at the half. The Lions continued to have success going up to a 41 to 7 lead early in the 4th quarter. The Javelinas finally stated to have success in the 4th quarter and scored 21 unanswered points in a game that was already over. The Javelinas finally had good stats through the air. It came at the expense of the run game with a -14 yards rushing.
Takeaways: Commerce dominated a game that typically had been dominated by Kingsville. The Lions continue to get success through the air but have yet to establish a good running game. Commerce had great special team play and the secondary came up with several big plays. The Javelinas were completely shut down in the running game and found their success in the air. Surprising fact: Kingsville out gained Commerce through the air in passing yards, 212 to 205.
Up Next: Texas A&M Kingsville travels to Florence to take on North Alabama. Texas A&M Commerce hosts McMurry.
Midwestern State v. McMurry
Final Score: Midwestern State 66 McMurry 20Takeaways:Game of the Week: Tarleton State v. West Texas A&M
Final Score: Tarleton State 31 West Texas A&M 27
This was definitely a tale of two halves. The buffaloes were completely in control of this game with a 27 to 3 lead at the half. The buffs dominated ten-fold in the first half and the Texans dominated ten-fold in the second half. The Texans came out of halftime with a mission. They completely stymied the buff offense and shutdown WT, giving them their first loss on the season. The Texans will move on with their perfect season still intact.
Takeaways: Tarleton proved that they are a real contender in the LSC and in Division 2 football. As of late, WT has been one of the primary dominant teams in the LSC. This weekend, the Texans showed that they could step up and be another dominant team in the LSC. The LSC has been needing another tier 1 team in the LSC. Is Tarleton State that team?
Up Next: Tarleton State travels to Mississippi to take on Delta State. West Texas plays hosts to Angelo State.

Personnel: after trying to run the 2-qb system for a while and seeing that Aaron Doyle(who is clearly Fowlers little pet) was more of a detriment than a benefit, he was effectively benched and Jake Fenske given the big time snaps. Fenske rewarded him with a tremendous 2nd half and the game winning drive.
