Northern State suddenly finds themselves at 3-0 in the North Division after starting off winless against the South. Kyle Lavand has gotten more accustomed to his role as starting quarterback and the Wolves ran for 352 yards last week against Crookston. I expect similar success for NSU when they host a Mary team that could very well be the worst performing squad in the NSIC this fall.

Minnesota State-Moorhead (3-4) at Minot State (1-6), 3pm
The Moorhead downturn continues as the Dragons have now lost 4 in a row. The MSUM offense produced over 500 yards last week, but the defense gave up 35 points in the 2ndthSouthwest Minnesota State (5-2) at Upper Iowa (5-2), 6pm
If not for the Key to the City game between Augie and USF, this tilt would be the best NSIC game during week 8. That said, I think this is probably the toughest game to pick. Both teams come into this contest at 5-2 and having played well-contested games against the top teams in the conference. As a result of both squads sitting with 2 losses, this game ends up being an elimination game from a playoff standpoint.

Looking at the tale of the tape, both offenses are explosive and are strong through the air. The biggest difference lies in the Mustangs ability to run the ball with the better ground attacks in the conference.
