ndWashburn Offense vs Bemidji State Defense

Ian:th in the country. Having said all that, this is his last game, and he certainly has some good skills, and if he can put it all together, then that will bode well against a defense in the bottom half of D2 against the pass.

Witt: BSU started off the year as one of the top pass defenses in the NSIC, but then struggled against the better throwing teams as the year progressed. That said, All-Conference defensive backs Gunner Olszewski and Damon Benham are two standouts that can both turn interceptions into points. Benham lead the Northern Sun with 6 picks while Olszewski topped the team in tackles and had 3 thefts as well. The Beavers were only ok against the rush, finishing in the middle of the pack in rushing defense, allowing 3.7 yards per carry.

Bemidji State Offense vs Washburn Defense

Witt:Ian: The strength of the Washburn team is no doubt its defense. Just like the offense, they look to establish that they are the more physical team on the field, and they have had much more success in the MIAA on this side of the ball, especially against the run, where they rank 29thth in pass efficiency defense and 147thth ranked passing attack in terms of yardage.

While the defensive side of the ball has played a little more consistently than the offense on the year, they are far from a shut down unit. They are a ball hawking unit, ranking 17th in D2 in takeaways with 28 on the year, and that will need to continue if they are going to come on top in this game.
