Depending on who stays and who goes, VULCANS WBB will have 5 Soph, 1Jr and 5 Srs to start with.
Recent commits are HOPE HAWKINS 6'0" F from Woodland Hills and TRINITY BALOG 5'8" G from Parkersburg, WV. Hawkins looks to be a possible replacement for Terrell as an inside power fwd. Balog, a WV 4A All State first team, could be the missing consistent scorer the team hasn't really had since Miki Glenn left in '17.
JS has signed several transfers in recent years, so that route is always possible. Time will tell.
Another commit is Gia Piscitelli, 5'8" G from Brown HS in Shaker Heights Ohio. Don't quite understand her commitment as an average scorer and not significant defender. However, she did get an offer from ASHLAND which indicates she impressed two high level WBB programs.

VULCANS WBB has posted both their 24-25 roster and schedule, much earlier than usual.

Hayden Robinson appears to be the only non-senior to leave the team. An additional freshman, MYA MORGAN, Gd, Greensburg Central Catholic has been added to the other 3 listed above.

Solid start for VULCANS WBB in Edinboro with a relatively easy win over WLU 95-74. Still don't have a reliable 3pt shooter, but the usual aggressive Strom defense was more than enough tonight. FG-56.7%/3PT-30.8%/FT-78.9 with 28 HILLTOPPER TO resulting in 32 pts did the trick. Rounded scoring with 6 in double figures led by A Young -22, I Williams-15 and A Harris-15.
Early 3PM game vs WU tomorrow.

Disappointing home opener vs BOWIE STATE WBB on Tuesday. Continued bad shooting, especially 3s, too many fouls gave BSU the 9 point winning margin from the line and the rare game where a Storm team has more TOs than their opponent. On to Saturday against POINT PARK at the Angelo Dome.

Another subpar performance by VULCANS WBB on Saturday afternoon barely beating POINT PARK 65-61. This PIONEERS WBB team has been crushed by M'VILLE 47-69, ESU 48-87 and GSU 77-97. There were NO PLUSES in this game and if something doesn't change in a big way soon, we're looking at a very atypically weak Jess Strom team.
Tonight against FAIRMONT could be very ugly.

As expected, VULCANS WBB suffered their worst defeat at the hands of Fairmont State in the short series between the two teams, 59-80. Terrible stats all around which I believe will become fairly common this season. This will not be anything close to the 2nd ranked team in the PSAC WEST this year. In her first year, 2011, Jess Storm suffered through her worst season,17-10. This years schedule is also 27 games and it feels like a similar final record is likely. Basically there seems to be no consistent scorers and even the usual pressure defense fallback has proven ineffective. These things happen and fans will have to deal with it.
