For those interested, Midco will be doing a one-time airing of Augie's 2016 National Championship game this Thursday evening. It was a really fun game, especially if you're an Augie fan.
Interesting. I'd enjoy reading a Mr Mr long essay on that subject.
I've been awake for two hours with indigestion. Went to a benefit in Buffalo Lake last night for one of my former football players who has late stages of ALS. Pulled pork was delicious but I'm paying for it now. Tossed and turned, went outside for a walk, finally decided to get on here.
Eh... I think we'll have a better chance at staying relevant long-term if we eventually make the jump.

Bottom line is that yes, getting rejected is never a good thing. I don't know a ton of people that get rejected for anything and think/feel, "Yeah, that's a good look for me."
That being said, if this gets the administration to reassess how this was handled, it's possible they will adjust things moving forward and pursue future options. Maybe it would be the Summit again, or maybe they'd switch their style up, show that they can provide more value, and pursue a different conference or something. Then again, I can't imagine the Horizon League is desperate to take a school that the Summit rejected (Summit fans would have a heyday with that one), but as NSU4LIFE noted, they still have plenty of time to achieve this goal if 2030 is the plan.
Augustana is much better suited at D2. Embrace it.

Why? Because they are trying to solidify their conference and picked a much larger school located in the Twin Cities? Augie will be there eventually, plenty of movement left in that conference. Unfortunate, but it will happen

To be clear, I'm not one of those people that has ever said we would be champs immediately in any sport (if that's a shot at me), just that I think we would be more competitive than we would have been 20 years ago, which is the version of Augie that most of the anti-Augie crowd fixates on.
It wasn't a shot, it was me stating a fact, actually. Sheesh...ungrateful, son of a...
