As it sits now, Upper Iowa will have the privilege of making the longest journey in the NSIC on the Wednesday night conference tourney opener...a short 1,380 miles round trip.

A potential first-round meeting with Moorhead makes me more nervous than it probably should.

I potentially am going to be home alone over the weekend that the Wolves play up there, thinking checking that one off the list.

NSU4LIFE: I don't mean to pile it on, or be a dope, but while you will be home alone in Aberdeen, I will be gazing at the Caribbean in Cancun with my wife from an ocean-front room. It's from there I will intermittantly check how Upper Iowa will continue to screw up my picks. GO BSU Beavers!

I don't live in Aberdeen, unfortunately.

You did however pick the wrong guy. I have a few friends that moved south and send me pics all the time of the beach and all that. Not for me. We are in the minority, but my wife and I are not really into the whole summer thing. I get irritable as can be for the three months we have it. In a perfect world of be able to get the Mrs. to move way north when summer hits. Again, I'm pretty much alone on this, but I stuggle with the whole I Hate Winter weekend as I actually love it compared to summer. For the record I work outside or in a truck with no heat or air for work and it's easier for me in the winter.

That said, I hope you enjoy your time, as I say to anyone in retirement, enjoy every minute of it, you worked your whole life to get that this point.

I'm more a spring/fall guy. Summer too hot/humid, winter far too cold.

Man, sloppy reading for me again and then a hasty response. Bad assumption you living in Aberdeen. The mind is a terrible thing to lose. I lived through a few of those "I hate winters" in Aberdeen, especially the civic center with Wachse (as I called him). Those co-eds flashing their swim suit bodies near the basket during our free throws were distracting. Quite effective.

The -30 (real air temp) we had last week was rough. We are blessed to go south for a week every 2 months help us keep our sanity (although I am not sure it's working).
