Sherman has been all over the country with 11 years at the JUCO level before going to Maine, including stops in WY, GA, and MD as a coach. He graduated from a D3 school in MD. A lot of job-jumping for someone in his late 30s.
I am not impressed with the overall pool of candidates

Also, I've always wondered the back story of Dolan? You guys make him seem like the complete opposite of the guy that is now in Aberdeen.
From a WSC insider he came to Wayne with a history partying too much at Upper Iowa (a bar allegedly banned him at Fayette). Our AD worked with him at UI but must have thought it was ok.

Brian was hired late in the summer after our previous hd coach left mid June so i think we were scrambling. He lasted 3 years, I think. There was some partying here and then he had a tussle with teen age step son. And that step son was a DIFFICULT kid. I think if Brian remains dry he will be more than fine. I thought he was a decent person.

His stepson is out of the house which will be good I believe.

I agree with this. For a program that's supposed to be as good as WSC, the list hasn't wowed me. Bent might be fine at this level, but that's a big unknown. Pollari should be the favorite here (and maybe that was the goal?)

Just looking back at the SMSU candidate pool a few years ago, we had an 8-year head coach at the D2 level with previous NSIC and SMSU ties (Webb), a head coach in his second year at a then-.500 UMAC program (gone a combined 11-39 since), and someone who went to the NAIA national tournament in 4 of 5 years (now at a D2 in TX, went 8-20 first year). Really not that much difference between the two pools, and that should probably concern WSC fans somewhat.

Yeah, I'd assume Pollari is probably the favorite now. There was another finalist who I believe would have gotten the job, but pulled out of the process a few days ago.

This is what I've wondered about a lot of coaching searches. They're all pretty darn fluid, with candidates that would likely have the "wow" factor taking themselves out. I always like to think that if a coach can get buy-in from players and the school, then he/she doesn't need to wow me on paper.
