You were wrong about Newman having an outside chance at KC. They have already been eliminated because the best they can do is 5 wins. 8 teams have already won more than 5. At least 2 of the 4 teams with 5 wins will get to 6 because CentralMO plays Pitt & CentralOK plays Hays.

I did a football-specific podcast this week (National Signing Day recap). Back to hoops talk next week.

I think Washburn and MO West have the toughest schedules left and I think UNK has the easiest schedule of the 5 schools going after seeds 3 thru 7. Washburn has four road games left. The NSU/Rogers swing is tough and the NWMS/MO West swing is tough with both being undefeated at home. If the home teams hold serve of the games left, I am predicting that the last game between MO West and Washburn might be for the 6 and 7 seeds. However, a lot of stuff can happen and the teams that play the best on the road will get the 3 and 4 seeds.

About a third of the conference season left for most (6 games). Should still be quite a bit of shifting.

MWSU: 3-1 with 1 game left
UNK: 3-1 with 2 games left
WU: 1-1 with 3 games left
Rogers and NSU: 1-3 with 2 left
Missouri Western still has games against NWMSU and MSSU, WU has a game against Northwest, I think the others are through with both, so that may make a difference too.

Great come from behind win for the Jennies, out scoring the Hornets 40-22 in the second half for a 70-66 win.
Brenden Van Dyke was a dynamic player and one of the best athletes in the league. I felt like they were just getting used to playing without hime when...
Dallas Baily went down with a broken bone in his foot on the first possession of the game. He was really starting to come on. He'd been averaging around 6 points and 7 boards a game and was shooting around 45% from the three-point line over his last six games.
They were both about 6-6, 6-7 and had good versatility.
Also lost Aaron McGee before the season started to an Achilles injury. He started 25 games last year and averaged around 4.3 rebounds per game
The other guy that has been hurt and hasn't played well in a month is Justin Williams at point guard. He was playing pretty well until he got hurt at Washburn and missed four games. He average 13 points in our first three MIAA games before getting hurt and hasn't done squat since he came back.
Wednesday night I bet ESU played with four freshmen on the floor about 80% of the time. I think Keyon Thomas (#2) is a strong candidate for MIAA Freshman of the Year. Mason Thiessen (#30) has all the tools to be a good power forward in this league. Gage McGuire (#3) is solid, Tyreek Robinson (#21) has an All-MIAA body-although it might be better suited for the football field. There are no seniors on the active roster and they have already signed the leading scorer in the state of Iowa. So the two big questions are 1) can they survive the rest of this season and 2) will the injured guys be able to come back next year for their senior seasons?
Speaking of football, why is Shae Wyatt wasting his time on the basketball court. He definitely has an athletes body. That guy is special in football, if I were Swoboda I'd be worried he might get hurt in some freak accident on the court.

I would love to hear more about Northwest Missouri. I think a podcast devoted to Northwest on February 12 would be perfect!

Can you tell us more about Northwest Missouri? Little is known about them, I think they are called the Bearcats and have won quite a few of their games as of late.
