I don't remember a lot of conference matchups in the first round of regionals in the last few years. I may be misremembering. If accurate, I don't know if it's coincidence or the committee manipulated it. I doubt the committee would come out and say they changed it for that reason even if they did.

I just went and looked. In the last 4 years (that's as far back as I could find without too much searching) there have only been 2 conference matchups out of 16 possible in the opening round. Both happened back in 2016.

Wouldn't have anything to do with who is seen as higher seed. Just avoiding conference matchups in first round. Maybe the committee doesn't care about conference matchups and just seeds them where they feel appropriate and let's it play out.

If Southern Nazarene ends up winning GAC tourney, I think they end up 3 seed. Here's why...GAC regular season champ, GAC tourney champ and H2H over the 2nd best in MIAA. NSU gets 2 seed by virtue of winning NSIC and I believe better SOS. I think that puts WU at the 4 seed and SCSU at 5 seed, Southern at 6 seed, SE Oklahoma at 7 seed if they get to GAC championship and having regular season win over S. Nazarene. That leaves the 8 seed and I think that will go to NSIC team.

1 NW vs. 8 WSC?
2 NSU vs. 7 SE Oklahoma St.
3 S. Nazarene vs. 6 MSSU
4 WU vs. 5 SCSU

S. Nazarene won today, so I think they are lock at 3 seed.

This is just me personally, but I think you have to reward a team with a record like Southern Nazarene. They are GAC regular season champ, they are playing for conference tourney championship and they beat WU. To me they are 3 seed.

Probably couldn't even get O/U or odds in Vegas.

Only time I've found D2 odds was Final four and championship last year. The day will come.

Well, they looked better after the first 10 minutes of the game. Looks like a solid 7 seed to me.

Not surprising that you would want them at 7.
