  • MIAA transfers

UCM Brandon Emmert, announced he is transferring to Drury he was a freshman last year who had potential on the plus side I just saw they have a 6ft 7 juco player from Iowa coming in who had good numbers at a strong program. This happens every year at every school basically UCM needs an upgrade in talent so some will have to go just not sure if this going to be positive.

UCM's coach K. recently announced the signing of a couple of transfers and a high school player from Grandview who was the Missouri class 4 player of the year (5'11" shooter). I don't ever remember coach K announcing any signings before the whole roster was set (approx Sept. 1st). He must be feeling the heat from the AD about his recent dismal results and the pissed off fan base. Sounds like he's trying to step up his PR effort to address the waning interest and attendance,

With Twitter these days, it's already been announced some capacity so you might as well put it on your website. I never understood why they waited.

            Advice for Young Coaches:

Dont put yourself in a situation where you need 10 newcomers.

Didn't he have a gigantic recruiting class last year too? Or am I mixing them up with another program?

You are correct, it looks like they signed 9 last year.

Dont put yourself in a situation where you have to sign classes of 9+ players in your first two years with a program.

Well, he is trying to build his own team. Isnt this only year two?

YES!!!! This is a top 5 post ever!

No one is more self promoting than that guy.

Thing of it is too is he tries to come off as a guy who actually cares about these players but sells one right down the road for the next. He has been successful but I think the walls are closing in on his little act.

One of his best ones was his advice for young coaches: "Stop whining to the referees. Coach your team and focus on your team on not on the officials". When we played them this year, he was the biggest whiner that I ever saw. I saw way more whining than coaching at least that night.

I saw the same thing when we played them this year. To me, that's not the best example for young people.
