I have to think if Jones wants to come back, UCM should hire him. I would like for that to be sooner rather than later if a new men's bball coach needs to be hired.

He needs to go to high school cause he can't recruit and doesn't know how to tell players don't shoot. Terrible on 3's.. Should have been gone 4-6 years ago.Comment

The best plan would be to mobilize your constituents with a petition signed by as many people as possible to fire the coach. Present copies to as many power brokers as possible.Comment

Since Jerry passed away and there will be a new ad imo his days are numbered regardless. New AD’s always want to put “their” guy in place. This is generally true even if the coach was performing OK. The Mules had their typical "strong" finish in 2023, losing their last 6 games. Missed the MIAA tournament finishing 11th.
2022: Lost the last 2, 3 of the last 4 and 4 of the last 6.
2021: Won the last game stopping a 7 game losing streak. Missed the MIAA tournament finishing 12th.
2020: Lost the last 3 and 7 of the last 8. Missed the MIAA tournament finishing 12th.
2019: Lost the last 2, 3 of the last 4 and 4 of the last 6. Missed the MIAA tournament in year 39 after making the first 38. They finished tied for 10th but lost to Baptist twice.
2018: Lost the last game after winning the first round game to get to KC. Lost their last 6 regular season games and fell out the regional rankings after being 3rd or 4th in the first one.
2017: Exception to the rule. Lost in the MIAA championship game after winning the previous 4. Finished 2nd in the MIAA but were never ranked in the region.
2016: Lost the last 2, 8 of the last 9 and 10 of the last 12.
2015: Lost 3 of the last 5, however, the team was good. They lost the regular season final to Northwest after winning the previous 7. They then lost in the 2nd round of both the MIAA and regional tournaments.Last edited by Randy; 02-25-2023, 11:45 PM.

With the exception of Reeves and Jacob Lowrance year in 2017, they have not been competitive with players he has recruited. For the most part, they have played defense but have never been able to score. It is sad that people are leaving after the Jennies games (many of those are long time Mules/Jennies supporters) and the students have no interest in coming to the games.Originally posted by Randy View PostComment

The UCM Athletics fundraiser in March last year only netted the Mules about $200 if I remember correctly. Other sports were in the thousands of dollars.Comment
