MSU Mavericks Basketball - 2023/2024

Nearly 2 months old now, but in case people weren’t aware.

Yes, they were. I expect them to be at a Twins game too. Back in 2017 I was there when Coley Ries threw out the first pitch (strike of course!) when the softball team was there after winning the D2 title. Now Coley is the head coach at Gustavus.

Was pretty cool when the Twins honored AU baseball team 2018 NC. Coach Huber threw out the 1st pitch. As he played amateur baseball, I'm sure there was some juice on the pitch. The players were thrilled to be on the field.

Are the two teams invited to the state capitol to meet with the governor for recognition?

Well, it took exactly two months but my MSU Mavs Men's and Women's National Champions t-shirt finally arrived. Looks good.

I’m not a guy that’s big on computer metrics but this is pretty cool.

MSU finishes the year as the 118th ranked team in all of college ball in the Massey ratings. 3 spots behind Michigan and ahead of Cal, Oregon State and WVU.

Summit champ SDSU is at 145.

These ratings would project them to win ELEVEN different d1 leagues.

Now if only we could make those conferences geographically closer to us!

Nathan Christensen, who used to work in the Mav athletic department- then at UNI and SDSU, was named athletic director at Indiana State. He is a great guy, good luck to him!
