I counted three outs in the bottom of the 7th inning according to the stats.

Kentucky Wesleyan Wins the 2017 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Softball Tournament Championship!

KWC - 7
Davis & Elkins - 0

The Panthers go undefeated in the tournament and ties the 1986 team for most wins in a season with 38.

This is really a shot in the arm for the softball program and the athletic department at large.

Wesleyan will get an automatic bid in the Midwest Region of the NCAA D2 tournament.

Half right He is following his coach to Fla. Bad job of recruiting by KWC.

I'm not sure I'd say it was a bad job of recruiting. He did follow the coach he originally signed with, staying with a system he knows and going to a school that by all accounts has some pretty amazing facilities for D2. It's disappointing, obviously, but I'm not really surprised.

Staying with his coach looks like it was the plan but I hate to see us get another "dismissed from team" player. We need someone that can run a team and a three that can score. Summer work by some of our players would make me feel better. Each year I get excited but this year something is missing. I think I still have bad taste in my mouth from last game. Each year we do lose good players that have signed or even played.

The softball team is riding an 8 game winning streak. They will have their hands full against UMSL. However, Wesleyan never backed down from UMSL in any sport.

They will get to play at least two more games. I can see them winning a game and playing three, maybe four, maybe more. This team will have a bunch of parents and supporters in the stands.

I will say UMSL has a prominent and beautiful campus. It is not hard to find.

Very nice couple of weekends on the diamonds for KWC. Also it is raining PGs. Happy signed another Juco All American and a long range bomber from calf.

Chandler Redix is a guard that signed a scholarship offer. The other guard is a walk on.

Without Elkins, according to VC, that gives KWC nine scholarship offers. Williams is still on the roster. I'm pretty confident he will return. Adam Stanford is still on the roster as well. He is a walk on, but an outstanding one. He could pursue a double major.

Colton Elkins is still on the roster. He could be cleared to play. If so, the scholarship roster stands at ten. I think the 2017 class is secure.

The softball team did great considering their youth. However, I think the baseball team has a better chance of advancing in the Regional. The baseball team has an athletically strong team and more depth. Both programs are in strong positions going forward.

Stanford already transferred to Campbellsville, they did sign a guard from evansville, and I heard recently that Elkins is out FYI

I'm just going by the VC Roster. There has been no official announcement on the KWC athletic website.

Campbellsville should be giving him a full scholarship. He is an intelligent player, and a great individual.

If all that is true, then KWC has two scholarship openings if the athletic department is alloting those. I see no reason why not. Wesleyan still needs a true Center.

I am not sure Redix has a full ride. he does have unlimited range. . Other guard is Jordan Johnson from Southwestern CC National champs DII. He is first team All American. Won an award at juco all star game. He and Bell are friends and will be solid back court. I do think it means at least one more will leave. It could be a player from last years team or one that has not played yet. Colton has been told he can not play this year but I do hope they get a second look at his progress.

I think one more big/tall is coming.
