  • Midwest Players to Watch Men or Women

SBU's Jalil Beaubrun was a physical presence last year as a freshman standing at 6'9" and 240 lbs. If he has improved at all, he will be dominant down low.

SBU is well coached and will win some big games this season, but it is a distraction from the game for a coach to CONSTANTLY question the referees.

USI has a couple D1 transfers on their 2021 - 2022 roster. Of these, PG Trevell Cunningham looks to be most likely to make an immediate Impact for the Eagles. He put up decent all around numbers for Grambling State last season, including an 11 assist game.

USI looks athletic, should be a fun team to watch, and is my pick to win their division.

Drury Women's transition offense will be extra potent with the addition of PG Kaylee DaMitz, a quick, strong point guard with a pure shot. She should have more opportunities in Coach Eagan's system to improve upon her 16.4 point, 5.3 assist average from last season at Pitt State.

FWIW Jordan Roland has transferred to KWC from Notre Dame Ohio (GLIAC) where he led them in scoring at over 18ppg last season. 6'1" combo guard. Experienced at the high levels of D2. Has the potential to be all-GMAC.
