  • CWU @ UW Huskies

CWU plays an exhibition at UW tonight. I will be there! With so much roster turnover but so many great local kids returning to play for the Huskies, actually a much-anticipated game. Obviously going to be tough to face the zone defense from the Huskies so hopefully we are feeling it from 3-point range tonight. Also going to be greatly outmatched in the front court, as the Huskies feature big men 6'9" Langston Wilson, 6'10" Jackson Grant, 6'11" Nate Roberts, and of course 7'5" Riley Sorn (yup, you read that right). Offensive rebounds could be an issue tonight. It will be interesting to watch the matchup of guards, as CWU has 4 former division 1 guards in David Thompson (Santa Clara), CJ Hyder (Fresno State), Shaden Knight (Long Beach State), and Xavier Smith (Oregon State/Idaho) that will go up against the likes of Jamal Bey and transfers Terrell Brown (Seattle/Arizona), Daejon Davis (Stanford), and PJ Fuller (TCU). All now graduate players, Xavier Smith (O'Dea) played against Brown and Davis (Garfield) in high school. Smith also played with or against lots of the UW guys in the Seattle Pro-Am this past summer.

7'5" Riley Sorn is not playing tonight thankfully. In street clothes

Knight, Smith, Bennett, Poquette, Gilson starting 5. Interesting no Thompson.

Bey, Roberts, Matthews, Davis, Brown for UW as expected

3 point shooting not starting well again the zone. Still only down 6-2 at media TO

CWU making some shots, up 10-8! Just gotta limit turnovers

27-13 UW pulling ahead last media TO of half. Central struggling to make shots against zone. Defensively not too bad though. UW probably could pound the paint more.

29-17 at half. Struggling to hit jumpers vs the zone. UW actually with more turnovers 12-10, but outscoring CWU 20-6 in paint to no surprise. Thompson and Smith no points 0/7 shooting. They gotta step up If the Wildcats want to at least stay in the game

Congrats to the CWU women, however. Winners over SU!
