Wow, so they are bringing back football but moving down to D3 to do so. Bummer they cannot afford the scholarships to play football in D2.

D2 a schollie limits are tough. Guessing 75% of teams nation wide aren't fully funded.

The silver lining is that they are bringing back football.

I'm glad they are doing that, when they cut the sport the a.d. was pretty proud of himself.

Right on! The SCIAC is a very good D3 conference and adding the AP Cougars is great news for us here in SoCal. And for college football fans in general.

Silver lining for them, but if they become just like all the D3's in the PNW, CWU will never fill that empty spot on the schedule with a non-league contest. D2's and D3's never play each other in the west (even though when we were all NAIAs we were bitter rivals). Of course, in the cutthroat world of how many D2 games did you play from an SOS standpoint, I'm not sure if CWU should entertain putting APU on the schedule.

Is the D3 decision because they can't afford scholarships, or because they can't afford football travel?

Well, they cut football after the 2019 season, so did a new Prez, AD, Booster come in to force them to bring it back, all while figuring out the vibe of athletics in general?

Goods and I posted those basketball attendance numbers. If I recall, Apu was one of the worst out there despite pretty good tradition in the sport. Might as well bring back football and go D3.
