Got home just in time to catch the Nooks game. Boy, they played really well today, doing many things well that they have not done too well over the season (rebounding and attacking the basket from many angles, rather than just shooting 3s). Good D. The whole team showed up. I'm calling it a coaching win; they were on it and well prepared tonight while NNU looked a little sleepy and on their heels. Consistency has NOT been something the Nooks have been good at this year, so it will be interesting to see if they can make a quick turnaround and execute at a high level again to tomorrow and keep themselves in the game with UAA. Stoked for the Nooks team; it's been a hard winter here on many fronts, so this is great.

UAA vs UAF was a great finish. UAAs 3 point shooting at times is a serious problem but they got it done. That’s all that matters.
I’m not one that likes to complain about refs but I have no clue what was up with Ostanik going nuts after that game. I’ve never seen a team get away with so many off arm push offs on the defender as UAF tonight. Kudos I guess because the ref was letting them get away with it all game so might as well keep doing it…tough to play defense when you are constantly getting dislodged from your position. Then you hit UAA with a crucial penalty for being in the shooters landing space on a 3 towards the end of regulation but swallow your whistle when it happens 30 seconds later on the other end? . Then for Frank to scream like a manic at the refs who basically kept you in the game by getting away with that nonsense? Wasn’t a great look.
But whatever…onto getting our butts kicked for a 3rd time against St Martin’s. At least UAA locked in a 4th-6th seed in regionals with that win and avoid having to play East Bay in the first round. Survive and advance.Last edited by Anchorage; 03-07-2026, 07:04 AM.
