I have custody of certain documents that was in a cedar chest I wound up with after a buddy passed away. In it is a Western Union Telegram notifying my buddy's grandparents that their son, Henry, died at sea on March 4, 1943. There is also a Western Union Telegram from their son Robert "Bob" that he would not be able to attend the memorial service. Bob was also in service to our country at that time. I have since found that Henry was buried at sea.
Our veterans, living and dead, are why we have this message board. To them we indeed owe a great big thanks.
