  • Longest Winning Streaks in D2 History

I stumbled across this article this morning listing the all-time D2 winning streaks (as of 2019). It gets interesting when you look at how the teams listed had hands in ending each other's streaks.

40 — Grand Valley State (2005-07) ended by NWMSU
GVSU also had a 48-game regular season streak from 2004-2009 ended by Hillsdale.
Ferris State was closing in on that mark until Grand Valley ended it at 43
38 — Northwest Missouri State (2015-17) ended by Pitt State
34 — Hillsdale (1954-57) ended by Pitt State

Speaking of Pitt State, they have the 11th longest all-time with 25 from 91-92.

There have been 18 DII football programs that have won 24 or more consecutive games. Here's a look at the longest of those streaks.

You mean to tell me that virtually all of the best teams in D2 football history came from the same two conferences that still run D2 football? Wowwwwwwwwwww crazy!

Since Hillsdale was MIAA(D3 now) back then and D2 didn't exist yet that article is a little misleading in that regard but still an impressive streak. Quite similar to GV-just not as many games per season
