  • No GLIAC/MIAA/GSC in Semis

Not sure how many times this has happened...maybe Ink or Brandon has some historical reference on this. Nothing wrong with having new blood on the scene.

But is this a 1 hit wonder? Or is there a changing of the guard? Is parity rearing it's head or are teams overly benefitting from the current playoff structure?

OK Ladies and Gents.....Let the fireworks begin. Have at it!!!!!!

Not since 1997 - Northern Colorado (NCC), Carson-Newman (SAC), New Haven (Ind.), and UC-Davis (Ind.)

Yes, and a big reason why nothing farther back than that has much relevance to the present, because the landscape was so different.

Everyone who has won the title 1998-present is still in D2, except North Dakota (2001) and Commerce (2017). Everyone who won the title 1973-1997 is now in FCS or FBS, except Northern Michigan (1975) and Pitt State (1990). Also Mississippi College (1989) who had to vacate theirs because of cheating.

The NCC Dakota schools and the earlier version of the GSC (Troy, Jacksonville St., North Alabama) totally dominated the 1980s and 1990s. The GLIAC and MIAA really didn't break through until those schools moved up.

Repeat that last sentence again so Kle hears it better.

LR came in with a great game plan and for VSU everything that could go wrong did. We had enough miscues to last a life time. Guess we were due. It happens. Happy about a 12-2 season. Back to the drawing board.

It was an improvement over your previous season. I hope IUP can bounce back from this horrific 6-5 disaster.

Gotta leave the SEC out so the little brothers will keep playing. Makes sense 😉

UNA just moved up in 2021 with 2022 being its first year in FCS so scratch them from the above - GV had been in the NC game 6 times prior to them moving up and UNA never made it out of its region - Troy won 2 D2 NC in 83 and 87 but in the years just prior to them moving up went 4-6, 4-6 and 5-5 - so hardly dominating D2 - and J State made 4 appearances losing 3 before squeaking out a victory over Pitt State whom they lost to in its previous NC appearance - so your analogy really doesn't hold water but if it is what you need, go for it

My point was about who actually won national championships before and after 1997-98, and whether they are still in D2. That’s all.
