Some players are holding off (or decommitting) on their transfer decisions based on Coach Belichick's new NFL / NCAA Gateway program he's putting in place at the University of North Carolina. In preparations, UNC just changed their NIL budget from 4 million to 20+ million. This could be a major game changer in D1 College Football.

I don't think Belichick will finish out his contract at UNC, by his choice. But I wish him well...except when they play Duke. ;)

I heard on Fox Sports that Bill Belichick is only 14 wins away from the all time NFL coaching record held by Don Shula. So close...yet so far away. They also mentioned Belichick's son taking over the reigns when the time comes which will probably be in two or three years. Thinking be that Bellichick will find early success at UNC and use that to get back in the NFL. I think that's his hope too, but I don't think it will work out that way. The trend in the NFL is to move away from the power that a HC holds in also being a pseudo GM. That is Bellichek's MO. This new slot fits in with his methods. I just don't see any NFL team/owner giving him the same power he had at NE.Originally posted by crixus View Post

Like I said, I don't think it will work out that way (as far as Belichik getting what he wants) so were in agreement. And Pete Carroll is 73 now, but he's the most energetic senior citizen I've ever seen. He's still getting paid by the Seahawks as an advisor, but I don't know if he's happy doing that?
