        Re: GMAC/GLVC Announcement

Sounds like the GLVC football league will be merging or forming some sort of alliance with the GMAC. More than likely, it'll be a scheduling alliance. Because the GLVC and GMAC are in the Midwest Region in all other sports, then any GLVC vs. GMAC crossovers would be considered in-region for playoff ranking purposes. Examples: (1) Missouri S&T finished the regular season with a 9-2 overall record, an 9-1 record vs. D2 opponents and a 7-1 "in region" record, which includes their seven GLVC games and their game at Northwood; their out-of-region games were against Tuskegee and Eastern New Mexico. (2) McKendree's 6-5 record was 6-3 in-region, with out-of-region games vs. Bowie State and Chowan, and in-region games vs. Kentucky State and Northern Michigan. (3) Truman State's 5-4 record vs. D2 teams included in region games against Saginaw Valley and Michigan Tech (despite Missouri not bordering Michigan).

Remember, the GLVC is also down to eight schools: UIndy, Lindenwood (essentially a one-for-one replacement with Lincoln (Mo.), who will be back in the MIAA for football starting next season), McKendree, Missouri S&T, Quincy, Southwest Baptist (will be a full GLVC member starting in the fall), Truman State and William Jewell. So, I'm guessing this is a scheduling alliance to fill in some gaps for this season with the potential for more cross-league games in 2020.

Why would the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority be involved?

Thank you. I had to rework it.

Since South Shore is involved, my guess is a bowl game with the top team in each league that doesn't make the playoffs invited.

Makes sense in a way. Both conferences have played CIAA schools in recent years since the CIAA has three OOC games. McKendree traveled to NC and hosted a NC school and a MD school last year. Alderson Broddus is another one. Same for GLVC and SIAC - Missouri S&T in particular has played Tuskegee and I think is playing someone else in the SIAC this year.

I like this guess. It would be nice to have a few more bowl games involving all conferences.
