Re: Mike Kellar named Glenville State Head Football Coach
Not blaiming Kellar. My source who has been spot on in the past said that he was brought in to WLU with the understanding that he would be elevated to HC this year. Clearly the current HC wasnt on board with that plan.

No word on Hill leaving but I wouldn't be surprised as he was Kellar's "guy."
Guess the only good thing to come out of this is one good recruting class and 3 or 4 new coaches. The coaching staff except for Hill and Keller had been it place mostly for 10+ years and I think its safe to say they were a little stale. Of course the good that can come from newly hired coaches will depend on who they hire.

Re: Mike Kellar named Glenville State Head Football Coach
What I heard was that the current HC had made some promises to Amedro including a pay raise (apparently he was the lowest paid coach on the staff) and elevation to OC. But there always was an excuse for not filing the paperwork (for the pay raise). Then Kellar was hired as the OC. When Amedro asked about at least getting his pay raise, he was told at that point, sorry, no money. He threatened to quit over it and the HC said he'd try and work something out. Again, it never happened so he ultimately did quit. Subsequent to him quitting, money miraculously became available for his pay raise and he came back for the remainder of the season. But by that point, he had kind of soured on the current WLU football administration.
At least, that's the story I heard.
I think it would take a whole lot of enticing for him to come back to WLU.

Point One: Everybody cheered when they brought in Kellar last year to turn around the offense. You'd be hard-put to find a guy with a better offensive resume and they went from 3-8 to 2-9.
Point Two: You don't take up coaching in D2 to get rich. Amedro's making almost as much at his "real" job now as Kellar is being paid to be head ball coach at Glenville. With 2 young kids, there's no question Zach made the right move, difficult as it may have been. Given the current turmoil at Glenville - stay tuned - time will tell whether Kellar did.
