  • New Haven hires new AD

    https://newhavenchargers.com/news/20...athletics.aspx

Looks like he’s big on fundraising and development. The university has a new president and new AD now, I’m curious if there’s still a push to move to D1 since it seems like the pieces are in place now.

Do they have a new athletic facility?

if yes - the northeast conference is calling

I might be in the minority here but, I would rather for them to stay where they are at instead of going to the NEC.

I hope they move up. I think they would do what UINDY would do in the OVC. Dominate

I would like New Haven to move up however, not with the NEC. They should beable to upgrade the facilities if they decided to do so and New Haven certainly has enough fan base to support this move.

They have a new training facility and they’re remodeling the basketball arena, so the answer is yes, but in progress.

If the former AD is to believed, the NEC has already called many times, along with other conferences. Don’t know where they would go if it isn’t the NEC, though. Maybe all sports but football in the MAAC with Quinnipiac, and NEC for football? The only other conference in the area at FCS is the CAA, and I doubt New Haven gets an invite there.

I’m with you. The NEC to me is a more costly D2 conference with lesser chances for playoff success. There are some schools who have amazing facilities but haven’t talked much about D1. For example, this is a D2 stadium (but to be fair, it’s in Texas):
