New Haven DC hired at Edinboro

New Haven DC Matthew Scott is heading back to western PA as Edinboro’s new head coach.

Anyone who has followed the Chargers knows how good his defense has been the past few years (especially with the offense being more stale and conservative). This is a huge loss for New Haven. I long thought he would soon be a head coach and was hoping he would stay around long enough to take the New Haven job, but who knows if/when Pincince would be interested in leaving anyway. Pincince and the AD need to get to work and find a good replacement and do it fast.

Mark Powell gets the job. Pretty solid replacement, by the looks of it; it's not often a D2 coordinator hire gets a dedicated article for it on Footballscoop

As of now, there's no indication that any current assistant coaches is going Edinboro.

New Haven just added Mark Powell to it's coaches roster. I wasn't sure if it was only a rumor, but it's official. This is a great addition to this defense.

There's a couple of ex-players on the staff too. Looks like Connor Degenhardt is the QB coach , and the listing makes it seem like it's more than a grad assistant position (but it still might be a grad assistant position).

I agree, this is a wonderful addition and a great replacement for Matt Scott. Edinboro got a very good coach so congrats. As far as former Chargers on the current coaching staff, Connor Degenhardt is one of them, we also have Jake Conlan and Mazon Walker. We lost one asst. coach who traveled north to Amherst, MA in Travis Ecke and Pincince is current looking for a replacement.
