    A couple takeaways:
    - Collins is in the last year of his contract. He sure as hell better be feeling pressure to win.
    - Complain about the cost difference all you want, but Collins has never had to fundraise for his scholarship dollars a day in his life.
    - Not really impressive quotes from the AD. Sounds like Frank Coonelly. "Gee I hope we get some wins this year!"

I know the challenges we have, but I also know the resources we commit to the program

Seton Hill as a university has a 45% 4-year graduation rate. That's a flawed statistic but I'm interested to see what its like for their athletes specifically football players.

renegades? what program added transfers with criminal backgrounds last year? Who is this program currently trying to win at all costs they speak of? Curious.

That would be IUP and IUP.

You have to admit that's a classic quote.

"We can't win at any costs. We can't win with renegades."

Sounds to me like SHU is in the wrong league.

No different than your program during their glory years. Need a few bandits to win.

That said, Max Redfield was a model citizen. Ingratiated himself beautifully in the university and surrounding community. He was a church mouse. Went out of his way to do things off the field and in the community.

Look man I'm the last person to judge a program for taking on kids with baggage people make mistakes so props to IUP. But i recall a lot of you on here singing a different tune when that incident happened at Cal and you guys judged our whole program to be a thug factory. When the facts came out only ONE person got in trouble for that and only ONE of the people involved had a criminal record.

Not bad. This thread took a full four posts to turn into an IUP conversation.

                    More than usual.

That incident was deemed so heinous by people on here and people not on here that a lot of folks, including myself, believed that if you were there at the time you were guilty by association. Doesn't matter what the legal disposition was.

I agree but we have to remember one of them played for IUP last year.

Dude came out of the hospital with minor injuries a day or two later and was seen on Cal's campus. To this day I believe that whole thing was blown out of proportion on purpose to finally have a reason to gut the Athletic Department especially the football team which she seems to have a disdain for. Geraldine Jones milked that thing into a complete overhaul of administration practices that will change Cal for the foreseeable future. Look at what has happened to all sports. Cals tennis team has won the PSAC for 16 years in a row or something asinine and now barely can win a match its sad man. The media ran wild with it and I still dont understand why. Im not a conspiracy theorist but I have a feeling something was cooking behind the scenes before that even happened. Womens soccer 3-4 years removed from a elite 8 finish now second to last in the PSAC, softball etc its all goin down hill in a hurry.

You're right. I mean if he was only hospitalized for a couple days ... who cares. Boys will be boys.

You're right - misuse of state and tuition dollars to benefit football deemed so egregious that the state ousted the longtime president was made up so Geri Jones and the pro-Armenti trustees could gut athletics. Maybe the Cal football resurgence - much like the convocation center and parking garage - was really just a facade (and a way to maintain the PSI of the president's ego). I can't believe for a second that they were raising all those scholarship funds through banner advertisements around the football field. I mean the biggest athletic fundraiser went from "raising" millions a year for Cal football to selling State Farm insurance. That's not the natural progression of a major university fundraiser.

Maybe people just don't want to go to Cal now that they're not winning everything. If WVU football wasn't a big deal would anyone in their right mind decide to live in Morgantown, West Virginia for four years?
